Economic Modelling

Modelling is an essential part of health economic analyses. It provides the information for authorities, experts, and payers to support decision-making regarding healthcare resource utilization. With the help of modelling, fragmented research data, observations, and experiences, as well as justified assumptions, are compiled to anticipate and predict the impact of healthcare interventions on individuals, patient groups, healthcare, and society. Modelling aims to answer the decision maker’s question about the most likely outcome, but also the probability of extreme scenarios, as well as the credible range of results.

We are developing all kinds of economic models starting from simple calculators and decision trees, through Markov models to patient-level simulations including discrete events simulations.

We have a separate team specializing in developing dynamic transmission models that require specific knowledge and experience as well as appropriate technical skills. We are passionate about applying advanced methodology in modelling and health evidence synthesis, and are not afraid of challenges and innovations.

We use internal tools and procedures to ensure our models are consistent with best practice guidelines and fulfil the requirements of authorities such as NICE (UK), SMC (Scotland), HAS (France), TLV (Sweden), PBAC (Australia), CADTH (Canada), and AOTMiT (Poland). We are also familiar with developing models supporting AMCP dossiers in the USA. We have developed and adapted models to many countries around the world, including Europe, Africa, Latin America, Asia, and Australia.

The quality and correctness of our models is verified in a standardized and well documented manner. The majority of our models are developed in MS Excel; however, they are often enhanced by the use of VBA, R, R Shiny or Python.

We develop models in a flexible and user-friendly manner to facilitate their use and future adaptations.

We support effective communication of evidence and strive to convey the value of your products both to internal and external stakeholders. Our documents are clear, compelling, scientifically accurate, and ensure full compliance with regulations, industry best practices, and your corporate guidance.
